What's Covered
Your coverage pays for oral surgery when your dentist or surgeon shows it's needed for your health, not just for looks. At our center, that includes:
- Tooth extractions, when a tooth is badly decayed, broken, or can't be saved.
- Wisdom teeth removal, when your wisdom teeth are impacted or causing pain.
- Care for a tooth infection, including removing the tooth that's causing it.
Your plan reviews and approves your surgery before it's scheduled, and our team takes care of that request. How Approval Works →

If You're on Fee-for-Service
Most people on Missouri Medicaid are in a health plan, like Home State Health, MO Healthy Blue, or UHC Community Plan. Some people aren't in a plan. Instead, the state pays for their care directly. This is called MO HealthNet fee-for-service dental coverage.
What this means for your oral surgery:
- You're still covered.Fee-for-service covers the same kinds of needed oral surgery.
- Approval still comes first. The request goes to the state instead of to a health plan, and we send it for you.
- Your card looks different. You'll have an MO HealthNet ID card instead of a card from a health plan.
Not sure which one you have? Text us, and we'll check for you.
